I have been trialling a few different chocolate chip cookie recipes. Some are a more crumbly, some are too sweet, and some are, well, rocks.
I have so much easter egg chocolate still in my cupboards, and I have been trying to find chocolate recipes to use it up. I think, finally, I have done it. These are slightly crispy on the outside, slightly chewy inside. Sweet, but not sickly sweet. They aren’t healthy in any way, they have white caster sugar and brown sugar. Don’t replace it with one or the other, as this combination is what gives them their chewiness.
Today, I have some great recipes for you! These are perfect for last minute lunchbox additions or birthday party favourites. Continue reading
It has been a busy week here, with kids starting a new year at school. It hasn’t taken long to get back into the old routine of menu planning and lunch box prepping.
I feel like this year will be different though. I am allowing myself a little bit of time just for me. The family schedule is filling up fast, but I am making sure that in there, there is some time for me to get back a little bit of sanity, to exercise a little bit and just take some deep breaths.
I have set myself a challenge, to exercise every day in February for 30 minutes. It may be a walk, or weights or pilates
or a run . So far, so good. Ok, so it’s only day 1, but whatever, as far as I’m concerned, I’m 100% on target! I’ll keep you posted how I am going!
And now onto cake… 😉
I know it’s been ages since I’ve blogged. Mainly because nothing particularly exciting has been happening, and partly because I was feeling exceptionally lazy. It’s a gift I have of avoiding everything I should be doing, and doing a whole lot of everything else!
Tell me I’m not alone in this gift?!
I was at my nieces birthday on the weekend where her Godfather had made an awesome cake, which he revealed was a slow cooker cake recipe. The concept of a slow cooked cake had never occurred to me before, so straight away I was intrigued.
I am often in the situation where my house is a mess, the kitchen is atrocious, and I’ll think, hmmm, I should bake a cake! Today was one of those days. Problem is, I often make the cake, pop it in the oven and then forget about it! I cannot tell you how many cakes I have burnt in my time. So today I thought I’d try slow cooker cake because surely I couldn’t burn that, right? Continue reading
Grain free, nut free, refined sugar free and dairy free biscuit recipe
Two weeks ago on my facebook page, I promised a grain free (and therefore gluten free), dairy free, nut free and refined sugar free biscuit. Then I hurt my back, and was so low on supplies, I couldn’t even play with the recipe. Today, I finally got to my dry goods supply store, so tonight, while Master B cooked the BBQ, I whipped up the biscuits and am now procrastinating cleaning my kitchen while I type up the recipe for you all. Ahhh, the things I do for you lovely people! Continue reading
